Become a member of SWPS

Dues and Rules

You do not have to be a member of SWPS to submit to the conference.

If your paper is accepted, you must be a member of SWPS to present a paper on the main program.

Conference participants acting only as session chairs or commentators do not need to be members, unless they want an issue of Southwest Philosophy Review. They do still need to pay registration, however.

There are the rates for membership dues:

Professional Scholars (full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and independent scholars): $60
Graduate students: $30
Sustaining membership to help SWPS support younger scholars: $100

Everyone involved in the conference must pay conference registration. The rates for 2025 in Savannah were:

Professional Scholars (full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and independent scholars): $125
Graduate students: $75
